We all know that Buddhism isn’t about “worshipping Buddha”. It’s about the path to being the best person you can be and living the best life you can live. I, like everyone else, struggle conquering my ego, my doubt, and my pessimism. The negativity in life is easy to embrace while the positivity often must be found.
Here are some of the teachings that I believe to be extremely valuable on this road to light, acceptance, and gratitude.
“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up relations.”
“What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.”
“No one can save us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”
“The mind is everything. What you think you become.”
“It is foolish to guard against misfortunes from the external world and leave the inner mind uncontrolled.”
“The secret for health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
“There is nothing so disobedient as an undisciplined mind, and there is nothing so obedient as a disciplined mind.”
“Love the whole world as a mother loves her only child.”
